June 28, 2012 - I went with a team from Fort St John to the WestJet headquarters in Calgary to present to the executives there why IT JUST MAKES SENSE for WestJet to begin air service to our own North Peace Regional Airport.  We were there along with approximately 30 communities from all across Canada.

WestJet expects to make a decision by the end of the year which cities they will begin flying to with their new regional service.

June 2, 2012 - What a privilege to attend the Canadian Cancer Society’s 11th Annual Fort St. John Relay For Life.  It was so encouraging to see so many walking and running around the track at Dr. Kearney from Noon till Midnight, taking part in this global effort to make a difference in the fight against cancer.  At last count the city had raised over $75,000.  Thank you to the organizers, the sponsors, and to all who participated!

June 2, 2012 - I was honoured to represent the City at our local Royal Canadian Army Cadets  Annual Ceremonial Review. Congratulations to all of you for your hard work and commitment.  The knowledge and skills you receive through this excellent program will serve you well.  A huge thank you to all the wonderful staff & volunteers who make this happen!

May 30, 2012 - If people only knew how much I hate being cold and wet!  I took my turn in the dunk tank as part of Fort St. John's Municipal Government Day activities held at Centennial Park.  It turns out that people get some kind of satisfaction from dunking their City Councillors, but I certainly didn't mind, with all proceeds going to the Ride for the Disabled.

Let's Talk Site C

In our future, there is a possibility of the Site C dam being built only 7 km from our
downtown.  Since we will be the community most impacted should the project be approved, we are asking you to join in the dialogue to discuss how
this project would impact our community and how we should prepare.
We believe that we need to take a proactive approach to protecting and promoting the best interests of our community.
